Sleeman's Porter and IPA, those can't be NSLC listings are they?
At Alexander Keith's we follow the recipes first developed by the great brewmaster to the absolute letter.

The porter doesn't look much like a porter to me. Looks more like a really dark amber or a really light brown ale.

Re: Fredericton Craft Beer Festival - March 9, 2013
I wonder if that is true.....The first in the John Sleeman Presents series, Sleeman Fine Porter is straight from page 68 of the family recipe book. The original Porters were the drink of the working class in 1700s England where they were seen to be more nutritious. Take a sip of history today and experience this brew just as George Sleeman presented it back in the 1800s.

It looks like it could be at the low end of the BJCP style guide (SRM 20), but it's pretty pale.jeffsmith wrote:http://www.sleeman.ca/en/fine-porter

Yikes, neither of them get very good scores at the usual suspect rating sites…

Just a quick note for those who will be grabbing something to eat before the festival... you can show your ticket at the Lunar Rogue for 15% off food, and happy-hour draughts.

Re: Fredericton Craft Beer Festival - March 9, 2013
Hey everyone...
A few of us were talking about getting together somewhere for a bit of food and maybe a couple pre-festival beers beforehand. Nothing really firmly decided yet, but if anyone else is interested, feel free to shout out here...
We were thinking maybe around 5:00, at the Rogue or Snooty Fox or someplace? Not a lot of good-beer options around here now that the Garrison is out of commission.

"Twenty years ago — a time, by the way, that hops such as Simcoe and Citra were already being developed, but weren’t about to find immediate popularity — there wasn’t a brewer on earth who would have gone to the annual Hop Growers of American convention and said, “I’m going to have a beer that we make 4,000 barrels of, one time a year. It flies off the shelf at damn near $20 a six-pack, and you know what it smells like? It smells like your cat ate your weed and then pissed in the Christmas tree.” - Bell’s Brewery Director of Operations John Mallet on the scent of their popular Hopslam.

Haven't been to the Rogue in years or the snooty fox ever. Either spot works for me.

I wouldn't mind either as well. As I have never been to Fredericton I know nothing about both. I like the whiskey menu at the Rogue though.

Shouldn't let it thaw unless you are going to use it right away.canuck wrote: Would you be able to leave it at the BigTide booth for me?
