If we're set for the 26th can we update the title of the thread? If someone wants a brew friend I can help brew for the 26th, otherwise I'll have to focus on feeding people, or bring commercially-available offerings. Should be another fun year!
Brewing right now: whatever is going on tap at Stillwell in a few weeks.

Oh yeah, speaking of which, do we want a theme for food? I think last year was stuff that goes with sausage, and I forget if there was one the year before that.

I vote for the "bring your best dish/food item" theme :D

I changed the original post and removed the poll to avoid any confusion. The 26th is locked in.

I am bottling up my Hoptoberfest beers today! I'm also calling Cavicchis' Meats this afternoon to hopefully work out some of the details for the hops sausages. I am thinking 80 sausages will do? Does anyone think I should order more or less?

Just got off the phone re: sausages. We can order as many as we like at $4.75/lb and a pound usually has about 5 sausages. We don't need to know the exact number until early in the week before the event. I haven't looked into buns yet but I think that we can probably sell the sausages at around $3-4 each and make a little bit of extra cash to go back to the club. Can't wait for Hoptoberfest!

At standard pricing, I suspect? Which I'd imagine is $5-$8.

If we were able to get Nash to put together the spices/hops like last year, or pass along the epic recipe and someone prep it, I'd be fine with us doing our own thing.

Thoughts?

I honestly don't care what happens for food, as long as someone is looking after it

I found the recipe that Nash posted and ran it by Cavicchis'. If we provide hops and beer they can do the rest.

Hey All,

My roommate, girlfriend and I just moved from Vancouver and would love to join you guys for this. Unfortunately, I don't have any homebrew that will be ready... is that ok? We would be happy to bring some food and a few nice bottles we picked up on the drive across if that is cool?

Absolutely! There's no requirement that you bring homebrew to attend :cheers2:

It looks as if food is coming together nicely. Can someone locate a supply of ice? We likely need more than Staples can provide this time. Gahan supplied it last year; does anyone have a good contact there or know of another suitable place?

The musicians who came to the ASA had a good time and are willing to come back for Hoptoberfest but I think we owe them a bit more than food and beer for their performance this time. Can we give them a donation from the sausage sales or will enough people commit to donating to a tip jar to compensate them?

No. Personally, I have no interest in a band playing. They generally play at a level that makes it difficult to carry a conversation with someone...not to mention the difference in music preference throughout the club.

I'm not going to be there obviously but.. My thought is if people want to bring a guitar and jam that's cool, but paying or expecting donations isn't gonna work and isn't really the point of hoptoberfest.

Kegged: barrel barleywine from 2014 - i think i still have this somewhere
