Re: Beer in the news
Yeah, that's been there for at least a week....I couldn't figure out what it was initially, until I saw on here that they planned to sell leftovers. That pricing is great, most of the larger format bottles from Driftwood are $6+ out west and some of the Belgian styles from Trou du Diable are $8/$9+ are Premier. Hopefully people don't hoard, would be nice for a larger amount of people to each get a few bottles to enjoy.

I agree about the pricing, it's not bad at all. $4.00 for a 650ml can or bottle is pretty cheap!!CurtisD wrote:Yeah, that's been there for at least a week....I couldn't figure out what it was initially, until I saw on here that they planned to sell leftovers. NSLC management should be embarrassed to collect their paychecks.

Re: Beer in the news
I had to go out for an errand earlier this afternoon and stopped into the ANBL store in Rothesay while I was out. I spoke to the Store Manager and he was nice enough to print out the entire list of beers that are coming along with quantities. He suspects that it will all be arriving on Thursday and is going to give me a call as soon as it's available. Quantities are fairly limited so I suspect this stuff won't last long!CurtisD wrote:Yeah, that's been there for at least a week....I couldn't figure out what it was initially, until I saw on here that they planned to sell leftovers. Good to know. My car is in for service Thursday so I was just going to stop into the Moncton store in the evening, but it looks like I should try to make arrangements to get there during the daytime.

Re: Beer in the news
I'm waiting on my car service being finished.....as soon as I can drive over, I will. Somehow I doubt there will be some kind of mad rush at the Moncton store, but I wouldn't be surprised if a few people who got there early bought up a good chunk of it.

Just at the Rosthesay NBL decent selection for the Brewer Bash left over but not much quantity. There may not be much left by the end of the day. Mad Tom and Central City didn't make the trip form Freddy

One of the NBL employees @ the Rothsay store was snaping some shots, I had my hands full. Mostly new brews couldn't resist 1L bottles @ 4$.PEIBeerGuy wrote:Can't wait to see pics / hear tales of the Brewers Bash sale this am... wish I could be there for the great deals on great beer!

You think at some point in the game management would take notice and light bulb would go off in their head....instead, the moron who runs the liquor control for the country says this:
Rowland Dunning says consumers can order privately through their provincial liquor stores.
Yeah, NSLC really does their best.

Re: Beer in the news
I stopped in at 11:30 in Moncton and was told it had sold out in 10 minutes. Would be curious to know from someone who was there whether there was a big line or just a few large buyers. The staff member implied a lot of it got bought in one chunk.

If that's the case......It's a free country but for me, pretty much leaves a bad taste in my mouth. I don't thnk this was intended to be a source of cheap inventory for resellers. It was all going to get sold today regardless, so ANBL should have either sold it at more normal prices or limited buyers to reasonable quantities.PEIBeerGuy wrote:Probably Marky for the Laundromat!

Re: Beer in the news
I don't think Marc would look at it as cheap inventory, but rather more variety to offer beer geeks like us. Make no mistake, he's a smart businessman, but at heart he just enjoys sharing great beer with everyone.CurtisD wrote:If that's the case......It's a free country but for me, pretty much leaves a bad taste in my mouth. Re: Beer in the news
I tend to agree with Curtis. If it was any businesses buying that beer enmasse for resale, I'd be pissed.

Re: Beer in the news
Really, they should have just sent it all to PEI. It'd solve everything. They're already trying to sell "VIP" tickets to one of our beer fest sessions (3 hrs) for $120!!!

Re: Beer in the news
Oh I agree, and if he did buy up a lot of it, he was perfectly within his rights to do so, and in the end more people will likely have a chance to try the beers than if individuals went and bought cases....but for some reason it just feels like someone right in front of you in line for a concert bought all the tickets and then offered them to the rest of the line at double the price.jeffsmith wrote:I don't think Marc would look at it as cheap inventory, but rather more variety to offer beer geeks like us. I'm going to drop this subject....I'm a little cranky that I didn't get any of the beer and it's unfair to speculate who bought how much of what. I'm still gonna hit up the Laundromat for a glass or two of Celtic Knot

I don't think it's unfair to criticize ALNB for not having some sort of rationing in place, if it truly was bought enmasse for resale. I don't think that's a great move on their part.

I definitely agree with this. It's on the ANBL for sure.mr x wrote:I don't think it's unfair to criticize ALNB for not having some sort of rationing in place, if it truly was bought enmasse for resale. I don't think that's a great move on their part.

Re: Beer in the news
That's too bad, Curtis!! I can't believe that it sold out in just 10 mins.....but then again, I guess it only takes one person to come in and buy everything up.CurtisD wrote:I stopped in at 11:30 in Moncton and was told it had sold out in 10 minutes. I was able to purchase some stuff this morning. I was there an hour before it opened, and Jdobbs and I waited for it to open. There was another 8 or so people waiting for it to open as well, which was much less than I expected. But after it opened at 10:00, LOTS of people started piling in. The quantities were EXTREMELY limited, and we never even got a fair bit of stuff that we were even supposed to. Nothing from Central City, Muskoka, Flying Monkeys, Tree, or Russell showed up at our store, even though they were supposed to.

Oh well, I was able to pick up some stuff so I'm not complaining!!!

Re: Beer in the news
Yeah, kinda disappointed. I had let the fact that some bar owners stocked up go, as it's not worth getting an ulcer over, but my wife just reported that a couple of people in line at York Street spoke to someone sent from the Laundromat to buy stock up there too. Not impressed.
