Yup! Great to put faces to names (and beers). That open format is a real winner too

Had and awesome time! Got to meet some more brewnosers in person as well. Beer was great, venue was great, weather couldn't have been better and the company and conversations were great.
"Twenty years ago — a time, by the way, that hops such as Simcoe and Citra were already being developed, but weren’t about to find immediate popularity — there wasn’t a brewer on earth who would have gone to the annual Hop Growers of American convention and said, “I’m going to have a beer that we make 4,000 barrels of, one time a year. It flies off the shelf at damn near $20 a six-pack, and you know what it smells like? It smells like your cat ate your weed and then pissed in the Christmas tree.” - Bell’s Brewery Director of Operations John Mallet on the scent of their popular Hopslam.

Had a great time there, awesome event! Great to meet more brewnosers, and tons of great beer. Standouts for me was Acadie Broue Berliner Weiss, Central City Imperial Porter, and Naufrageur IPA with labrador tea. The umami mushroom beer was interesting, but the only one I couldn't finish :p

Fermenting: Oud bruin/Vienna Pekko SMaSH
On tap: Nelson dry hopped Berliner/ Scottish Heavy 70-/ NE IPA

I had an awesome time as well! Easily the best beer festival that I've been to and easily the best format for a beer festival. It was great to meet a few new Brewnosers for the first time as well!!

I'm not on Facebook so I didn't check myself, but my wife texted me that there are leftovers again this year. Let's hope that sale goes a little better (or at least more fair) this year.

I've done some special orders through ANBL and the lady who looks after it told me they will be on shelves soon and planning on making some changes (I think limiting quantities) to prevent bars / restaurants from stocking up.

They can't keep these beers on the shelf yet they only bring them in once a year.

sigh

The original thought was that they were going to hit the shelves last week but apparently they have to out return for refund stickers on thousands of bottles before they sell them and have an auditor verify all the inventory and check that none of the caps have been tampered or damaged.

I'm secretly happy they haven't hit the shelves yet since I'm out of town until Friday!

That's good, hopefully more of us get a chance at them this time....I was shut-out last year.

To be fair to ANBL, there have been new craft beers from outside the province hitting the shelves almost every week now for the past couple of months....it's a big improvement over the way it was. Muskoka, Lake of Bays, Howe Sound, Amsterdam, Forked River, Cannery, La Neufrageur, Trou Du Diable, Charlevoix, etc. The selection is pretty good.
