Dropping mine off tomorrow as well, not sure I love the beer and its not a bad beer by any means, was never a huge fan of the style anyway. I am looking forward to seeing how its scored though, as that is why I enter.

Yeah good job everyone. I didn’t place but scored a 32 and 36 with the judges. Had a great time. I’ve never made a Wit before and I absolutely love it. One of my most favorite brews I’ve done for some time now.mckay75 wrote:Congrats to everyone who entered. Big congrats to Ian Wheatley for best of show! Always a fun event. The judges seem to have picked up on the chamomile I used but not in a direct way. I think it threw them off a little whereas if they knew they were drinking a chamomile wit it may have made more sense. I purposely didn’t have any of the “secondary” flavorings too present as it seems that is often a mistake many make and Belgians are meant to be balanced.
Now to perfect it

Congrats to all who placed and thanks to Big Spruce for putting on a great event. Also thanks to Chris MacDonald for collecting the Truro brewnosers entries and saving us an extra drive to the city.

Big Spruce home brew competition 2018
Taylor and Chris did a great job! And there was a clear winner. That weizen was commercial quality.

Congrats to Ian and the other winners! Good showing this year, and Taylor did great to step in near the end to take over the beer coordination and judging, so that I could sit and judge this one.
