Brewnosers contest winners look here

Post by mr x » Sat Sep 08, 2012 8:04 am

Alright, as promised, there is a fairly nice prize up for grabs among you brewnosers who have entered contests and won something with the club name. To be entered, you also need at least 85 posts to make sure we have people who are actually participating on the forum.

I need you to speak up here to be entered, unless I can find a way to search members for contest winners (even then, I'm not sure we are up to date with the online stats).

The prize is a quite nice Moritaka Supreme Nakiri (vegetable knife). I went in this direction on my own, as it's tricky to pick brewing gear as prizes, I decided that the other passion among brewers should be represented here. That would be good food. This should encourage you to get on the ball in the kitchen.

I entered 4 contests this year (6 if you count all the Garrison entries as separate entries), but no winners this time out.

I'd vote that this be open to anyone paying the extra on their grain/hops really, since that's where this is coming from.

There's another knife that's open to people who have hosted brewnoser meetings or run group buys. I figured that the money should reward participation.

I certainly agree that the money collected should reward participation, maybe we can talk about that direction at the grain pickup. Not everyone is confident enough to enter their beer in a comp, or has a place that is conducive to hosting, or a credit card to offer up for group buys.
I've already contacted you directly about my thoughts, so I won't bother everyone here.

That's why I bought a few random prizes for hoptoberfest attendees. And Nash is throwing in some stuff too. I think that covers most scenarios.
