Hoptoberfest beer-call

Post by Graham.C » Wed Sep 19, 2012 2:09 pm

Hey Guys,

I figured I would start a thread to get an idea of what beer we would have at hoptoberfest, and more importantly, what hardware. Us out of towners need to plan on what equipment to bring along.

I was planning on bringing 1 pin lock keg full of comfortably numb. I can bring a reg and CO2 tank if needed, but I would rather not.

EDIT:
I did up a spreadsheet best I could with the info you guys posted. Check it out to see I got your keg styles right. I figured it would be a good idea to know what we need in way of CO2/disconnects and chilling.
https://docs.google.com/spreadsheet/ccc ... nRhamVIWXc" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

Keep posting up what beer your bringing, its great to think about all your yummy beers I will be tasting next week.

I'll be bringing 1 keg/jockey box for 1 beer and a Co2 tank that can pressurize 3 kegs with ball lock fittings. if you have ball locks your welcome hook onto my tank.
"Twenty years ago — a time, by the way, that hops such as Simcoe and Citra were already being developed, but weren’t about to find immediate popularity — there wasn’t a brewer on earth who would have gone to the annual Hop Growers of American convention and said, “I’m going to have a beer that we make 4,000 barrels of, one time a year. It flies off the shelf at damn near $20 a six-pack, and you know what it smells like? It smells like your cat ate your weed and then pissed in the Christmas tree.” - Bell’s Brewery Director of Operations John Mallet on the scent of their popular Hopslam.

Thanks Graham, been so busy I forgot. I should have my three keg tap box, plus another two tap ceramic tower. We should try to contact pihney before he heads to France to borrow his hand pump.

I should also have a 5 lb co2 tank for the box.

I'll be serving a session beer of some sort. Stout or bitter.

I don't have anything too hoppy right now, but I figured I'd bring some bottles of special bitter.

I may bring a growler or two of something depending on what I've got on tap that weekend.

I'll have a keg of IPA and possibly a keg of something for the ladies. So I'll have a tank with at least one free pepsi connect.

Just a note: no requirement that the beer you bring be a hop-bomb, or Pale Ale/IPA, etc. Any homebrew you are willing to share is most appreciated!

I will probably bring a keg of a clone of 3Floyds Zombie Dust (all Citra), a 20lb with 2 ball lock QDs. We probably don't need many CO2 tanks, and I'm happy to bring mine. Maybe a second one with pin-lock QDs?

I'll be bringing a keg of something...either a hoppy brown, IPA, pumpkin ale, or smoked porter.

Gavin & I have a keg of double IPA to bring and may have growlers. It's a ball lock. I can also bring the same CO2 setup I had at Kyle's - it can gas 7 ball lock kegs. That should help cut down on the number of tanks needed I would imagine.

Kegs or growlers? I was originally going to bring a keg of the hoptoberfest but it's not as hoppy as I had planned. Still, it might be nice to have a lighter brew on tap as well.

Otherwise I might bring some of my Nugget SMASH APA.

It got to hard to keep track of the beers, and too messy in my OP, so I did up a spreadsheet. I was only keeping track of keg numbers (for dispensing logistics). I thought that putting everyone's beers in might make the people who don't have any brew embarrassed to show up, which would be very counter productive. So its kegs only. The link can be found in the OP.

Please, please, keep posting the yummy beers you guys plan on bringing.

No, that's great. I didn't realize that was an option.
