Hoptoberfest food

Post by mr x » Mon Sep 24, 2012 8:16 am

OK, we have lamb burgers for the main event. What else have we got, keeping in mind that nobody expects a dish to feed 50 people. We'll just pick and choose different dishes that we want to try.

I'll make an indian potato salad.

Gavin & I plan to make brittle, caramel and Gavin mentioned something about Nun Farts... I don't know what those are, assuming he wasn't being literal.

Becky is making bacon chocolate chip cookies, lol

I MAY make some spent grain bread..I've tried a couple recipes and haven't been overly happy with either. If I can get a decent recipe down before I run out of grain I'll bring some.

BLT (Bacon Leek & Tomato) cheese dip and prob one other dip.

Edit: If I can find the time this week, I might be able to pull some sort of dessert together. Apples, blueberries or blackberries.

Sandy had somewhat volunteered to try this recipe:

I'll see if I can get hold of him, as his computer was in bad shape.

You can trim back a bit on the bourbon if it gets too $$$. I did to keep it kid friendly and it was fine.

I'm confused - shouldn't you add MORE bourbon to keep the kids quiet? Maybe this is why I'm not a parent...

My potato salad will have almonds in so to that point those with nut allergies should avoid.
