Brunch at H&T on 23rd

Post by mr x » Sun Mar 17, 2013 8:18 pm

Anybody up for something? I should have planned a garrison blonde tasting bbq like last year, but my new schedule really has me off kilter for planning events.

Sounds good to me. Where you thinking?
"Twenty years ago — a time, by the way, that hops such as Simcoe and Citra were already being developed, but weren’t about to find immediate popularity — there wasn’t a brewer on earth who would have gone to the annual Hop Growers of American convention and said, “I’m going to have a beer that we make 4,000 barrels of, one time a year. It flies off the shelf at damn near $20 a six-pack, and you know what it smells like? It smells like your cat ate your weed and then pissed in the Christmas tree.” - Bell’s Brewery Director of Operations John Mallet on the scent of their popular Hopslam.

We can do anything. I was thinking one of the pubs at this stage of the game.

^ Likewise. Prolly too late to ask RB or H&T to put something together, eh?

We could give Rogue or Henry House a try if there are no specials to be had anywhere.

I'd go for Rogue's Roost, I'm hesitant to return to HH after too many bad pours from shitty taps/lines.

But shouldn't you only get one bad pour out of a tap over a few hours? That being the first one? At any rate, I'm not a big fan of Rogue's food, but it's up to the masses.

I vote for H&T, although I can't guarantee numbers. I would be quite happy with that burger again... :mmm:

I can do the burger easy enough. Or I can smoke something. Or both. Actually, maybe I'll cold-smoke the burger patties, that'd be interesting!

My plan right now is to smoke beef patties on Friday for the Nash-burger If we're still on for this!?! It'll be served with sweet potato home fries and we'll pair it up with Smoked Black Lager.
