Truro Meeting

Not sure how many brewers are in and around Truro. I've seen a few on here and it got me thinking we should try to get together after the holidays in the new year for a meeting when things have slowed down. I'd love to host a get together and all are welcome including anyone wanting to make the drive. I've got quite a few different brews for people to sample, some good and some not so good. I have my Vienna Lager on tap along with a RIS aged with oak and cocoa nibs. Hoptoberfest made me realize how much I enjoyed chatting with other brewers and sampling great beer. I am also game for doing a collaboration brew sometime as I brew 95 % of time by myself in the evening after my daughter goes to bed. Just wondering if their is interest at this point.

Regards, Derek

I'd be up for this! I just moved into town recently (dominion st) from Great Village. This would be great!

Yeah I'm up for this for sure Derek. Mark, I'm just over on Victoria st. I wish I could make it to more of the events in the city but family life usually trumps. (I'm also a midnight brewer, don't usually mash in til after the kiddies are asleep.) So let me know when/if and I'll definitely try to make it work.

Trevor, Mark and Pete thanks for the interest. Glad we have a few guys that can swing this. Pete my family life trumps the events in the city as well. With that and shift work I'm always brewing late. I'll PM you guys in the new year and we can work something out. I live in Hilden. I'm a $12.00 cab ride from downtown Truro. I'm just off of highway 2. I'd love to try some of your brews and you guys to sample mine. It would be good to chat everything brewing. Talk soon, Derek

lol. One of the Truro guys wasn't available until after 730 pm but we can do it earlier if that will enable you to run it up the chain of command. I can do 7pm if it helps. At first it looked like only a few of us meeting so I was working with their schedules but interest has increased. Earlier is an option.

Earlier is actually better for me too. I'll be driving from NG if anyone needs a lift.

I can probably do 7-ish too Derek. I'll check my brownie point bank too though, just to be safe!
And I'll have a newb in tow as well.

cool beans... I'm going to have to pass on this one. I'm having guests that weekend and will need Thursday night to tidy up

a wise man once told me "you never need more than one brownie point at a time, because no matter how many you have, if you fuck up once you lose them all anyway"

I will be there at 7pm with some IPA. I find that flowers, on random dates (ie. not birthday, anniversary, etc.), are great for filling up the brownie bank. Looking forward to it. :cheers2:

Mark, Jason, Pete, Jeff, and Lonny I had a great time sampling your beer and a great evening. The Truro contingent may be small but it's strong one. Great bunch of guys. Thanks for a good evening. Looking forward to the next meeting.

Thanks for hosting! It was great to meet all you guys. I made a very important note for myself for the next meeting...take a cab! It was torture not being able to sample all the tasty looking brew that was circulating around the room. Definitely looking forward to the next meeting!

Yup, great evening. Thanks Derek! Good to meet everyone and talk shop for a while. My wife's eyes start to glaze over when I use words like "attenuation" so it was nice to finally have all those saved-up conversations. Looking forward to the next one!
