Join us on Saturday, May 16, 2015 at the Olympic Community Centre for the Nova Scotia FULL HOUSE Craft Beer Fest. This event will showcase all members of the Craft Brewers Association of Nova Scotia, so basically it's all the beers in Nova Scotia in one spot at one time (or two times if you do both sessions). Your ticket purchases includes access to the event, a take-home glass, and 12 beer samples of your choosing. Additional samples will be $1/each, while food will be available by cash purchase. There will also be entertainment, a pop-up beer swag shop, and may other amazing things.

Erin and I will be attending and going to the 4-7pm session, would be fun for a few others to meet up and maybe hit Stillwell or RB after.

I spoke with Alex from Local Connections yesterday, and it looks like they're aiming for a full week of events across the province. Some breweries will host events at their joint, or with favourite tap accounts, restaurants could host beer dinners, etc.

All NS Craft breweries are invited to take part, but I do think you have to be a member of the Association. I don't know how one goes about joining: Is it only for existing breweries, or for future breweries too? Is there a cost to join?

Never thought to look for a NSCBA webpage. I just didn't like the generalization of "basically it's all the beers in Nova Scotia in one spot at one time..I knew it clearly wasn't going to be true, but was wondering which particular breweries were/were not taking part.

I signed up to go. Hopeful that it will be a good beerfest. I like the low admission, pay as you go style. Worked well in Fredericton, so hopefully will work well here.

I know it's missing a few key breweries I enjoy, however it has the potential to bring in other breweries I don't get to often enjoy. Really looking forward to this event.

Mike's getting tickets for this too. So far Derek, Mike and I are getting tickets to the 4-7 session.

I don't think it's a horrible shorthand to use, but you are correct, of the currently open breweries/brewpubs, Bad Apple Brewhouse and Gahan Halifax are not currently members of the NSCBA. I honestly don't know what it takes to become a member (own a brewery/brewpub, is that it?), and whether they or the breweries opening between now and May will join/be a part of the week (and whether all members will take part, but I imagine they will).

I'm certainly no shill for "big" NS Craft Beer, but I do see the benefit of an association of breweries trying to improve the atmosphere in our province. Whether this is that association, I don't know.

That's not really what I was getting at - I was just concerned that "basically it's all the beers in Nova Scotia" was really code for "we have 3 breweries who joined the NSCBA, so that must be "basically all of the breweries in NS"

It will be interesting to see the direction they take. I like the Maine Guild took with representing best interests of craft beer and training and best practices. I believe there was a fee to join CBANS, I heard it cost 1000.00 but I am not sure if it was the same for all to join or was related to size of production

Aha. Ok, well, it's not just 3, but it isn't all of them.
