wanted: 25 Ohm - 2w or 3w Rheostat/Potentiometer

Post by jacinthebox » Fri Nov 25, 2016 4:02 pm

Looking for a 25 Ohm - 2w or 3w Rheostat/Potentiometer...replacing one in a buddy's stir plate.
The one we installed doesn't control the speed at all (on/off). He's finding it hard to keep the bar spinning.
Times like this I really miss radio shack

Let me know what you have...thanks

Dimmer switch will work if you are using a muffin fan. I have a plug in one. I switched to the big stir bar Dave sells and now it works great.

Yeah a light dimmer switch. They sell plug in ones so you don't need to do any wiring. But that is for 120v wall plugs. Too big for your fan.

I was thinking of the AC PC fans with speed control (amazon) but the cost starts to climb into the "I should just buy a pre built one"

I just picked up a potentiometer from Jentronics in Burnside. Gonna try building my own stir plate. It was ~ $12. I'm sure they'd have something.
Kegged: House honey wheat, Honey Brown ale.
Fermenting: West Coast IPA
On deck: Mad Elf Clone to age until Winter
In the hole:: NEIPA / Honey Wheat./ Sour season !
Kegged and aging:: RIS
