Re: 7 tap beer tower draft taps
Man that is a nice tower! I'm too short on brewery funds at this point though.
"Twenty years ago — a time, by the way, that hops such as Simcoe and Citra were already being developed, but weren’t about to find immediate popularity — there wasn’t a brewer on earth who would have gone to the annual Hop Growers of American convention and said, “I’m going to have a beer that we make 4,000 barrels of, one time a year. It flies off the shelf at damn near $20 a six-pack, and you know what it smells like? It smells like your cat ate your weed and then pissed in the Christmas tree.” - Bell’s Brewery Director of Operations John Mallet on the scent of their popular Hopslam.

Wow, nice. Would look great in my basement, but I'd probably be sleeping in the basement if my wife saw me carrying that into the house right now…

You'd at least have 7 beers on tap down there to keep you warm at night.jeffsmith wrote:Wow, nice. Would look great in my basement, but I'd probably be sleeping in the basement if my wife saw me carrying that into the house right now…

I had sent him an e-mail about the 2-tap... but he hasn't replied.
I need to know what style of tower it is to know if it'll work for me.

Just talked to him. I'm getting the 4 tap and he was going to see who has first dibs on the other 2 taps.

Nice stuff.

At Alexander Keith's we follow the recipes first developed by the great brewmaster to the absolute letter.

The pic does not do it justice. Its huge and weighs a ton. the drip tray is 31"x20".
I've cleaned up one tap and it's great.

Re: 7 tap beer tower draft taps
I own a 5 tap Molson unit exactly like this one from the old Bubbles and just a word of caution, they are build cheap. The taps seems to be of good quality, but everything else is plated (and poorly). Perhaps this one was maintained better, but when I took mine apart, I found a lot of corrosion, parts seized with beer, etc. Anyhow, it would still be cool to have 7 taps!

That being said, is it worth $350?Jayme wrote:I own a 5 tap Molson unit exactly like this one from the old Bubbles and just a word of caution, they are build cheap. Re: 7 tap beer tower draft taps
Probably yes, I think I paid $200 for mine and at the end of the day, I couldn't build something for that much. The faucets seem decent, it's just the rest of the unit. I thought it was stainless until I got it home and took it apart. I would try and talk the guy down to $300, less if it has any issues. Oh and I should mention, the $200 I paid included commerical tap handles I was able to unload for ~$50 and make some of my money back! So really it cost me $150 for the same thing -2 taps.

I think you will find most towers are cast and chrome plated, not stainless steel.

The threads below the drip tray are brass. I figure it is all brass and plated above the threads.

Re: 7 tap beer tower draft taps
True - the over all quality however is much lower than my dual tap tower on the keg fridge is all I'm getting at. That thing made of pure stainless would cost a fortune. The chrome isn't too bad, but the brass ring sections are awful, pitting and flaking off. It is a Molson product so go figure..mr x wrote:I think you will find most towers are cast and chrome plated, not stainless steel.
