WTB (buy or borrow) ball log keg and/or 'keg cooler'

Post by TimG » Fri Jun 24, 2011 2:59 pm

So headed to a yearly cottage party X) (July 15-18) on PEI with a few friends. I brewed up a batch of beer to take along, but I am not sure I am going to have an empty keg available. So I'm looking to buy another ball lock keg, or kindly borrow one for a week and a half (week before this weekend to get it carbed, return on the 19th all cleaned and sanitized). Anybody think they'd have one available in that time frame?

Also, wondering if anybody has a better option than a garbage can full of ice to keep this thing cool for the weekend? Not something I'll use very often at all so not sure I want to go and build something, so if somebody already has a 'tool for the job' and wouldn't mind it going to good use for a short period of time, let me know. If that fails, any suggestions on what to attempt to build to do the job?

I'm gonna be the guy on the left and you'll be the guy on the right... right?!?

How long is a keg? I can look into cooling options.

a garbage bucket($11) or one of the buckets with the rope handles maybe?...make sure ya put some water into the bucket along with the ice(more surface area coverage).. instead of buying bags of ice cubes that melt quick, i went ahead and made my own ice blocks out of margarine containers...they last a bit longer IMO.

If by chance I kick a keg in that time frame, I'll let you know.
At Alexander Keith's we follow the recipes first developed by the great brewmaster to the absolute letter. :wtf:

I've got both that you could borrow. My keg cooler is a rolling garbage bin that can fit 2 kegs, a 5lb CO2, and lots of ice and water. PM me to set up a time.

Awesome, I'll take you up on the keg for sure. If the cooler is just a garbage can, we can scrounge that up at the cottage, appreciate the offer though. I'm all set for C02 as I picked up one of the Jac-Pac's recently.

I"ll be in touch in a week or so about getting that keg from you. Thanks again!
