Re: WTB Beer Gun/Bottle Filler
Sorry I do not have one to offer but have you considered the simple method discussed here:
https://www.homebrewtalk.com/forum/thre ... gun.24678/
I am able to ferment under pressure now and I was looking into Beer Guns and Counter Pressure Bottle Fillers and I was rather put off by a lot of negative feedback, and with the CPBF particularly, how difficult and messy they are to use. I have all the parts to make the filler described in that post and am going to give it a try before considering the more expensive options.

Re: WTB Beer Gun/Bottle Filler
I more or less have been using the same setup for the past two years to fill bottles and growlers from my kegs. Right now I have one of the Perlick tap growler fillers attached to an old bottling wand, I also use a rubber stopper (have various sizes depending on the bottle/growler size I'm filling) on the wand to create a sudo counter pressure and relieve some of the foaming that occurs when filling. The only drawback for me is having to relieve some of the pressure on the keg (I don't have control flow taps) in order to slowly fill the bottles from the bottom up, which really is only a problem in my hoppy beers as I don't like release that precious aroma hahajimboh wrote: ↑Tue Feb 27, 2018 1:28 pmSorry I do not have one to offer but have you considered the simple method discussed here:

What's your budget? I just recently bought one of these...
https://www.ontariobeerkegs.com/True_Sh ... er-gun.htm
A lot cheaper than the blichmann and works great. I couldn't tell the difference.

Or a Counter Pressure Filler:
https://www.aliexpress.com/item/Stainle ... 55082.html
Anyone know how to use this type without making a mess? I typically keg 5G and bottle 5G each 10G batch and going by the discussions I have seen online it would take ages and be messy.

Re: WTB Beer Gun/Bottle Filler
Hi Jim, that's a pretty good buy, I did a search on eBay too, seems to be the same-ish pricing. I'm a little concerned that it's a "too good to be true" instance because it's less than half the price of a Blichmann (which it seems to look like), but I would certainly take a harder look if I got the feeling buyers were happy with it.jimboh wrote: ↑Tue Feb 27, 2018 2:00 pmNeat. Shipping to NS seems to kill the price difference - but it's certainly something to consider when I'm out in ON next.mckay75 wrote: ↑Tue Feb 27, 2018 1:50 pmWhat's your budget? I just recently bought one of these...

I'm having a bit of a hard time tracking down a stopper small enough for a beer bottle - both Everwood and NG don't seem to carry smaller than a 5.5 one.wcturnedec wrote: ↑Tue Feb 27, 2018 1:45 pmI more or less have been using the same setup for the past two years to fill bottles and growlers from my kegs. Re: WTB Beer Gun/Bottle Filler
I've got an exalted Blichmann beer gun and from what I've been told, the decent "offshore" clones are pretty well as good and less than half...like my Go Pro original a Hero 1080P I can now buy more than 10 clones on sale (Black Friday) that seem just as good. Seven years to learn to copy makes a difference

Re: WTB Beer Gun/Bottle Filler
So how do you find that counter pressure filler from Aliexpress now that you've used it a bit? Would you recommend it? I've always used a picnic tap, stopper and a piece of racking cane/filler tube but sometimes it works better than others. I was thinking about building a CPBF but buying one of those would be cheaper.

Re: WTB Beer Gun/Bottle Filler
Fine, I have nothing to compare it with but it works as I expected it to.
I don't suppose there is much, if any difference to a Blichmann gun in operation.

Re: WTB Beer Gun/Bottle Filler
Thanks. I thought the counter flow bottle filler would have less foam since the bottle can be pressurized before filling. I ended up ordering one on amazon, it came to $52.99 (no tax or shipping).
