I not gonna use them. If someone wants to come pick them they're yours. In Cole Harbour.

Re: Fresh cascade hops
Hmm no takers yet? I’m in Lawrencetown and I wouldn’t want them to go not used. I’ll pick them and if anyone wants them I’ll share.

I picked and used them all one year (thanks, Tim!). They were good but not quite enough for a double batch.

Re: Fresh cascade hops
Ok , they are picked, thanks Tim for permitting me to harvest. Apparently I don't get a rash when picking them but my wife does lol... I will prep them and then try to use them over the next few weeks. I hope to have some to share, I picked probably 10 litres of them in total. Not sure how much weight wise they make when dried but I definitely think I will be growing some next year.

Re: Fresh cascade hops
So I've got a friend giving me a lb of fresh cascade this weekend, but I have no time to brew this weekend... so how do you guys store fresh hops? Or do you at all? Ideally, they'd go right into some wort... but could I freeze them? I could possibly squeeze in a brew day the following weekend, but even that isn't a guarantee...

Re: Fresh cascade hops
put them in a zip lock bag and remove as much air as possible then just store them in the freezer until you can brew.
"Twenty years ago — a time, by the way, that hops such as Simcoe and Citra were already being developed, but weren’t about to find immediate popularity — there wasn’t a brewer on earth who would have gone to the annual Hop Growers of American convention and said, “I’m going to have a beer that we make 4,000 barrels of, one time a year. It flies off the shelf at damn near $20 a six-pack, and you know what it smells like? It smells like your cat ate your weed and then pissed in the Christmas tree.” - Bell’s Brewery Director of Operations John Mallet on the scent of their popular Hopslam.
