I put in a big grain order, and then (sadly) my brewing plans fell apart. I moved up to Cheticamp for the summer (sans brewing stuff) and then got a job in Michigan. My girlfriend has been too busy doing grad work to brew in my absence, so I have a bunch of grain sitting around doing nothing. I figure that you guys could put it better use for Christmas/New Years brews.
I have four unopened sacks (they've been stored in the house, and have been dry, etc.): one of Golden Promise, one of Merris Otter, one of a Canadian 2 Row, and a Pilsner (forget where from, but a European malt). I also have a fair bit of Cascade, centential, saaz, and E.K. Goldings.
Mice got into one of the grain sacks. I will have to check with my girlfriend to find out which one. I will sell that one cheap. It really doesn't bother me at all, given that everything is boiled, but probably bothers lots of people. : )
I am just looking for cost for everything. (Will have to check the group order sheet.)
Write me a PM if you are interested. I only want to sell the sacks whole, not split them up. The hops are broken into half pounds bags, I think... Vacuum sealed and freezer stored.
Cheers!
Jason

No. I am from BC, but have been out here for 6 years while working on my PhD. Half of that time was in Antigonish, and half in Halifax. My girlfriend got a job doing salmon habitat restoration in Cheticamp this summer, and I followed her, as a wise man does. One of my favourite spots in the Maritimes (was before, and even more so now).

Oh ok, cool. Yeah, its a great place, very nice...don't usually hear too many ppl talking about the place though so you sparked my interest. My great grandparents were from there, so when i was younger i spent alot of time down that way on the weekends, as after they passed my grandfather took over the house and kept it up so everyone could use it as a summer cottage type thing...But he sold it before passing himself, so my parents now have a trailer on the campground year round, so we still have a place to stay when we visit now. Looking forward to maybe getting back down next summer for a visit....my buddy works for DFO there so i'll have to visit him too and see what he got for beer...LOL.

Cool...just down the road from mine then....they were down the back road towards belle marche, going towards aucoin's bakery way. He had a farm as well i do beleive(i was pretty young at the time). House and old barn are still standing, but barn has seen better days. Last name was Boudreau. Accross the road from the old house there was a trail/old logging road that brought you up to the mountain....there was an old gypsum mine up that way, ppl used to swim up that way many moons ago...maybe ppl still do i dunno.mjdoyle wrote:Off- topic - Jmac00, my great grandparents lived in cheticamp as well, had a farm out in plateau.
