I have a 1/2” barb but my bottle filling wand takes a 3/8” tube. I’d also gladly accept advice on any possible workarounds.

You could make up a splice by simply cutting a piece of tubing and shoving it between the two pieces. Look fir pieces with the right wall thickness that will bridge the two pieces. Either that or go to home hardware...I keep lots of tubing and acrylic rod (racking canes, pieces etc) and have done lots of splices. Sometimes hot water is required if you want a really tight fit. Butterfly clamps are also invaluable.

I’ve read that these leave too much headspace in the bottle once they are removed. Do you have any experience with this?GAM wrote:get a 1/2" filler wand.

You could buy a 1/2” but the 3/8” will work by a splice or heating the hose. I’ve gone several either way. As far as headspace, all you have to do is move the wand up to the neck and push down on the spring valve to top up the bottle. Boy, I’m glad I’m kegging lol.
