What is a good price for used keg, regulator and CO2? Also, what do you have to watch for in usd kegs?

There's lots of little things to watch for. Tank hydro date is #1 with a CO2 tank. Kegs need to hold pressure. ball or pin lock.

As far as ball or pin lock go, are there advantages / disadvantages to either?

The thing I like about ball locks is that they usually come with a lid that has a pressure relief you operate manually. Some people like the fact that you can't mix up the connectors as they are pinned differently. Pepsi are slight bit taller.

I have a very high tech solution for that on the pin-locks - I keep a cheap ball-point pen in the beer room to manually operate the gas-in valve

I've decided I like the pin-locks better, and still have some ball-lock kegs I'd be happy to trade with anyone who gets Coke kegs and would prefer Pepsi.

The problem with that solution is that I'm using the gas-in line to charge the keg while I bleed the O2 through the relief. Now you can crack the lid, or try to gas-in though the liquid tube and purge with the gas-in post depressed, but that makes a mess. I own both, but I prefer the balls, for that reason, and the fact that I can't fit two pin-lock in my mini fridge.

what's a full 20lb co2 tank worth these days? within hydro as well.
