LF large mouth glass jars 4L+

Post by ryantr0n » Wed Oct 03, 2012 10:57 am

Anyone see/own anything like this around in your travels?

GF is looking for something more appropriate than 1L masons to brew kombucha in.

Criteria: must be glass, must have at least 3" opening.

:cheers2:

Bulk Barn. I saw some (in Woodlawn) on the top of an isle shelf, they had a few different styles and were that big or larger. I was thinking of getting one for fermenting vegies in.

Nice! I'll check it out after work - I'd love to get something like 5-8L for fermenting shit as well. My plastic pickle bucket is way too large for most applications

Would love to get something like this: http://www.wesellcoffee.com/media/STORAGE%20JAR.jpg" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
I know they exist in ~8L varieties, but that's not an easy thing to find.

On the right track, but I'm not a huge fan of the price after shipping (+$53): http://www.amazon.ca/Anchor-Hocking-2-G ... B000KKI7GY" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

I wonder who sells this type of stuff locally - I'll have to hit up all the shitty home stores in the crossing.

canadian tire/superstore/other stores frequently have similar jars. but usually with plastic lids, and you have to make sure it is actually glass, not plastic

Conditioning:
Kegged: barrel barleywine from 2014 - i think i still have this somewhere

I'll have a look - I don't even need the lid so that may be fine. These get covered with a cloth or foil, most often.

Winners might not be a bad spot to look. They sometimes carry stuff like this.
