The key is to keep it very warm with little fluctuation in temperature. 27C to 30C is perfect.

Should we start a group buy for this?

Anyone try one of these? I bought one of these a few years back, but shook the bottle up far too much before trying (it was an after thought after a long night of real beer) and ended up dumping it. It can't see any reason they should be any worse than Brewhouse or Festabrew (assuming the wort's alright), and for the inept they should be better (no hygiene steps), assuming that they are crash cooled and poured *very carefully*.
That said, think I'll stick with the all grain and leave the "Co-op" to the newbies. : )

Good to see they at least say what it is up front now... last spring I say it on kijiji and it said "Moncton Craft Beer Lover's Coop" I thought someone was trying to put together a group buy for craft beer from LCBO or SAQ. I emailed them, they sent me their Mister Beer speil.
I told them to get me the fuck off their email list and that if they thought Mister Beer qualified as "Craft" Beer, they were morons.

As an aside, pretty smart marketing: create a distribution network through the combination of a pyramid program and tupperware style get together parties.

Yeah jason, the first thing I thought was multi-level marketing. The LHBS tells me he sells a lot of these in the prepackaged 2 litre bottles. I am slightly intrigued about the caps. If the wort is unfermented, it must be relieving pressure once you drop in the yeast...?

This was actually the brand I tried to make. Apparently, it would have turned out drinkable:

(Could be a good segway into homebrewing... Like Mr. Beer machines.)
Mr x: yeah, the cap is pretty cool. It has a built in valve that keeps pressure down to carbonation levels.

The caps look like the one that I acquired with the sodastream system. Here's the earlier thread:
viewtopic.php?f=3&t=232&p=1709&hilit=sodastream#p1709" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; I have a handful of caps, and a lot of broken or incomplete parts. Does anyone know if the caps would fit the regulator thingy I have with the co2 cylinder?
I sent the kijiji poster an email (through their website).
