new 120mm fans installed.

That machine is very tempting to me. My last desktop died a few months ago, power supply went taking the motherboard, processor and video card with it. It was pretty ancient, an old Athlon 3200+ /w 2 gigs of ram and a radeon 9600 video card.
I'm using a chop topped dell laptop at the moment. Damn machine would slow to a crawl with any load with the stock cooling. So I removed the keyboard and some of the metal shielding, put a heat sink /w fan on the video card and a 120mm fan blowing air across the works of it. The machine now runs under 80C @ full load. It use to hit 95C and would crawl to a halt. Now I can actually play games at full resolution. Minecraft still requires me to play with fog on though so its time for a real machine.
The only thing holding me back is that summer is coming and I'll be spending less and less time in front of a computer, on top of that this is money I'd rather be putting towards brewing supplies/equipment and kegging equipment.

I hear ya Garak, there's never enough cash to go around and I feel for you with your current setup, sounds pretty painful
Anyhow, if you, JohnnyMac, Mr X or anyone else want to pull the pin on it.... it'd look real good on any one of you!

Yea I got to hold off on a new computer for a few months. Summer will be here before I know it and I don't need any thing helping me spend more time behind the keyboard. I can already feel the beer gut forming, the pants are getting tight around the belly. Thankfully the cycling season is here and I've already been out burning the calories.

This fine fine beastly tank has been sold pending pick-up folks.
I still want to see that cage match though!
