I agree. Some of the legalities around VPNs/proxy services are sketchy as well. At the end of the day, if you're willing to fork out money to a sudo-legal service, why not just pay for the content legitimately instead. That's the only way to truly squash the possibility of litigation.jeffsmith wrote:This. I rarely touch a torrent. There's a significant speed increase with other options as well.AllanMar wrote:If your willing to pay for a service, I would move away from torrents all together. There's other better options where you don't share anything, so it puts you in a slightly better position in terms of legality.

I got 3 in one night for the same thing... My girlfriend was busting a gut as I read the titles out loud, asking the roomie if he downloaded them, and him denying having anything to do with it. Priceless.sleepyjamie wrote:i got sent one. downloading porn no less. lol.

I got one while downloading from a service I subscribe to so obviously didn't take it seriously at all. If it was legit then their screening methods aren't very sophisticated and the whole thing could backfire if they piss off their customers, who may no longer see a point in being honest.AllanMar wrote:If your willing to pay for a service, I would move away from torrents all together. You got it while downloading legally or the notice actually said it was for a service you pay for? When the notices come is not related to what your doing.KMcK wrote:I got one while downloading from a service I subscribe to so obviously didn't take it seriously at all.
