Motorcycle parts

Post by Downs » Thu Mar 22, 2012 10:58 am

Any of you guys know of a salvage yard for bikes around here?
I heard there was one in Saint John but can't find anything online.

what type of bike (and what year) are we talking?
Allen's Cycle Salvage (Moncton) only has a really good selection of older bikes (pre-2000) IIRC.

As for locally (Halifax):
Slinger would likely be my first call - 209-3307 - He's in Dartmouth. Not a true salvage yard, but he's got some parts and has an ear to the ground.

Also: sourcing parts would really depend on what it is you're looking for. Ebay, M/C specific forums, and online salvage yards are always good options, as long as you do your research and are carefull.

I've got an 03 Volusia 800
I'm a member of their board ...
I've looked on ebay and can get somethings, but some parts are so big that shipping just ruins it.

When I laid mine down I used Ebay along with Allen's Cycle to get what I needed.
I have a 93 ZX6.

I've ordered my needed parts of ebay, seemed like the only other option.
I do belong to a forum for my specific bike, its a good source too I've found.
Might get a new bumper off of there.
I have a 2003 Suzuki Volusia 800
she's a big bitch but fun to ride that's for sure
