Phone Help
I have a question about smartphones and internet usage. I know a lot of you guys are pretty phone savvy. I suck at technology...
If the plan says for instance, that I can get a phone for free with just a basic talk/text plan without paying for any data plan, but the phone does have wifi connectivity, does that mean that I can access the internet on any accessable wireless network and not have to pay anything, the same as I could with a wii or a laptop or whatever?
Thanks.

Re: Phone Help
But make sure to turn the "Mobile Internet" setting off (at least that's what it's called on my phone, but likely different on different phones/services). A friend explicitly bought phones for her kids without data plans, and specifically requested that they only be able to connect via wifi. Naturally, the first bill came as a surprise, because they come with the internet connectivity turned on, and you pay No-Plan data rates for any usage.Jimmy wrote:Yep, any wifi connection and you're good to go.Tim Gregory wrote:I have a question about smartphones and internet usage. Same thing happened to my ex, on Koodo, when she bought her HTC Optimus One. Make sure it's off!derek wrote:But make sure to turn the "Mobile Internet" setting off (at least that's what it's called on my phone, but likely different on different phones/services).
