Oh, no. Not workable. It draws 5.5 amps. Could almost use a refrigerator (though it would waste the heat)!

i remember you mentioning in another thread but its vague in my memory, you're off the grid right? what's your main source..solar? and geny for backup?

Guy i work with is currently building a house, on the net zero concept i think...not 100% sure on all the fancy lingo.

We're building a new place in Dartmouth on a whole different principle - grid connected, but hyperinsulated so that it costs practically nothing to heat.

Cool....guy i know is gearing up for mainly solar as well, and grid connected. He was originally going to go with the wind turbine too, but opted not to and just have a backup generator. Or use the power off the grid if needed. He went with arctic rated windows, and IQF foundation...along with many other things he keeps mentioning, but i forget...lol.
