Spamming

Post by GuingesRock » Fri Feb 07, 2014 7:53 am

All that spamming is annoying early in the mornings. Probably it’s all been deleted and cleaned up by the time most people log in. It must be even more annoying to have to delete it.

BIABrewer came up with a solution …before you can post on the board, you have to make an introductory post in the new members section. Once you are approved then you are free to post on the board.

I don’t know if that is any better or worse. It might be a bit authoritarian and not in keeping with the laid back nature of this site.

There were about 10 spamming posts this morning and two of the buggers were working as a team answering each other's posts and agreeing with other about how wonderful what ever it was was.

It's actually easier to deal with on Tapatalk than the browser. Kinda comes and goes, doesn't bother me that much.

At Alexander Keith's we follow the recipes first developed by the great brewmaster to the absolute letter. :wtf:

I just ignore it. Not sure if anyone would really want to start policing or approving users based on a first post.

Yeah, I'm not a fan of restricting the posting until you post an introduction..I know that keeps me from posting on a lot of forums because I'm usually signing up to post, and don't want to wait for access.

It's pretty easy to delete the spammers, it just seems like it always happens overnight while no one is watching the forums.

It's has to be someone who is getting bored working night shifts that's doing all the spamming on here.
