Moncton Shooting

At least two officers shot. Dude is carrying two high powered rifles, a bow and large knife. Dressed in camo. Another shooting near Angie's in Dieppe.

Hope all Brewnosers and those with family in the area are somewhere safe.

Three RCMP officers were shot and killed and two more were wounded in Moncton, N.B., on Wednesday night. RCMP identified the suspect as 24-year-old Justin Bourque, whom they describe as 'armed and dangerous.'

I wouldn't be surprised to find out the Angie's thing happened because someone knew all available officers were elsewhere.

Interviews with ex-coworker and childhood friend:

Too bad they didn't stay friends...
If he could speak to him, Campbell says, "I'd tell him he's a fucking idiot. You have problems? Everybody has problems. You don't take peoples' lives. Whatever you have going on in your life, there's ways to solve it. It's not right. It's messed up. I don't feel bad for him but his familiy is the best people I've ever known. I just watched the 15 cop cars surrounding his parents' house, fully automatic weapons drawn, and all his sisters coming out with their hands on their heads. So sad. I can't believe what they're going through."

His Facebook was full of Ted Nugent anti government and gun rights rants.

Hopefully they get this guy before he can take anymore lives. It's a shame and my thoughts are with the slain RCMP families. I have a couple family members who are police officers and events such as this really give me a whole new level of appreciation for the field of work they are in.

I hope they capture him alive so he has the rest of his life to think about what he has done. They should plaster the walls of his cell with the people he's harmed, so he is forced to look at them day in and day out until he dies.

That would be fitting. Unfortunately, these types of situations rarely end with the perp in custody.

People become mentally ill with psychotic delusions also. This isn't rational behavior.

My father was a career police officer, and I've been surrounded by law enforcement my whole life. I don't trust anybody with a gun.
At Alexander Keith's we follow the recipes first developed by the great brewmaster to the absolute letter. :wtf:

No it's not.

What burns my ass about this is all the stay at Homs moms bitching that it's like Alain legers escape.

I wonder how long till they say it's mega deaths fault for giving him bad ideas.

That's the same kind of mentality the gunman has though. It's not the answer.

My thoughts are with the families of the police officers murdered and injured in the line of duty. Also my thoughts are with the police officers backing them up that night, the relief officers assisting and the dispatchers/911 operators handling things behind the scenes. To all essential services and emergency responders I raise a glass and say thank you for doing what few others would ever dream of.

Just heard an eye witness account on the news. He was surrounded by a swat team in her yard. He was yelled at and told to come out with his hands up. He yelled back "I'm done" and came out with his hands up. No more bloodshed.

I'm Proud of our police force, and very sorry for the lives lost.

Yes, very glad this is over. The RCMP did a great job. It's a real shame that lives were lost.

Very very happy that this is over with! The RCMP did an amazing job catching this fucking douchebag! I gotta admit though, I wish that it would of ended with him in a body bag.

I'm glad he's alive and can rot in prison and have to think about what he did the rest of his life. they should put pictures of his victims up for him to look at, and be forced to look at the lives he ruined each and every morning he wakes up. Frigging piece of shit doesn't deserve the easy way out of death.

He told his friend he wanted to "go out with a bang and take people with him."

Yes, thankfully the RCMP had the restraint not chase after him and play by his rules, even after they lost 3 of their own. He wanted his Rambo ending and they didn't give it to him. Spending 2 sleepless nights in the woods, an empty belly and the pouring rain probably helped take shine of his initial vision.

Time for Moncton to get back to a sense of normalcy and rally behind the families of the fallen.
