So the neighbor's house gets broken into last Thursday night, at around 9:00pm, a couple of hours after I left for New Glasgow. At the time Shelley was just wrapping up a party for one of her friends, and helping her load up the car out front. She hears the gate click on the neighbors back entrance, and watches a well hooded individual stroll down the driveway with a bag of goodies. She runs around back to check, and sure enough, the house has been broken into. Her friend quickly follows the guy up Liverpool and back down around London, while both of them call the police.
Now comes the idiocy.
While Shelley's friend is doing a very good job of following the guy and talking to 911, the dispatcher demands to know the address of the house that was broken into. Not where she is at. Or where the guy is going. The address of the house. The problem is, this is the first time she has been here, and doesn't know the street number. So she has to run back and get the address. Meanwhile, the guy gets away, and the police can't find him.
Speechless.
Anyway, we get no value for our policing services in this city AFAIAC. It's a billion to one chance, but if anybody comes across any of this stuff, let me know:

I'll keep an eye out on kijiji (I'm on kijiji all the time). Yup, the HRM police aren't the fastest bunnies in the forest, thats for sure. Hope they get back their valuables.
Out of curiosity I wonder why the picture is of an acrylamide gel? (Genetics is my field and there aren't too many of us!)
