Repointing my chimney. House is from at least 1904, possibly a bit older. Mortar is white and soft, so presumably all or mostly lime. The chimney is interior, but in the basement it is quite moist. After reading, I was thinking about going with type O mortar. Is this the right track or would I be best with K or an all lime mix?

I am a carpenter by trade, but I always had great experience working on jobs with Dan(owner) of "The Masonry men". We haven't done any masonry work in a couple years, but I would presume he's still doing his thing.
