Wow, that was pretty intense. I used to do a lot of downhill biking when I was younger, but never on a course that gnarly.

How long ago was it that you were into downhill biking? I used to organize alot of the downhill races in Wentworth for almost 10 yrs up until last summer...wondering if we crossed paths?

It was back in the late 90's. Most of my riding was at the Brookvale hill (definitely not a mountain ) on PEI. I don't think I ever rode at Wentworth, but did hit up Sugarloaf a few times. '98 was the last year that I rode because my Kona Kula was stolen out of the back of my truck that summer, then early that winter I completely blew my ACL playing hockey so biking was off the following summer as well.

When I saw you were from Great Village I was very curious if you knew an old university buddy of mine, Mitch Bird?

ah ok...did you know that Sugarloaf is a fully lift operated hill now. Gravity Logic went in a few years back and revamped the whole hill...its a blast to ride there now!

No I can't say that I do. I'm not originally from there and have only moved there within the past few years...so I only know a few locals right now.

Wow, that would be a lot nicer than the huge hike it used to require!

Ah, had incorrectly assumed that you grew up there, my bad. :)

That vid was pretty awesome. I watched it on mute and wondered if the biker went (in Spanish), "Holy crap! Dog!"

Jeff, you know a bikin' friend I went to HS with, Jason Hambly?
I imagine we've got a few Island ties outside of the Brewnosers!

I actually used to hang around with Jason's younger brother Mike (or Myk) back in the day.

I wouldn't doubt that we likely do. What area of the Island are you from originally? You're not from Kings county too are you?

That I am. From BC... "Back o' Cardigan". Poplar Point to be exact. Went to school in Dundas and Montague.

Not too, too far from where I grew up—New Perth. I went to school in Montague as well.

I'm startin' to paint a picture here now... ;)
I know New Perth well, of course. My grad from MRHS was '95. Yours?
I also had a father, uncle, godfather, and a cousin teach there when I was there.

I was '99. Who were the teachers? Wonder if they were still there when I went through MRHS.

Also, my god, that's a lot of eyes on you during the high school years. :spilly:

Yep. I wasn't watched like I was from 1-8, though, when my mom taught @ the school!

The teachers, in order (all were still there): McQuaid, Campbell, Rowe, & Brown.
