UPS pickup in Halifax

Post by Jimmy » Sat Apr 14, 2012 8:23 pm

Anyone know where the pickup for UPS is in Halifax? I never ship with UPS, but ordered from Costco and have a shipment coming next week when I know I wont be home. I know of the various UPS stores around town, but for some reason I am thinking that's not where the package actually ends up.

It's always ended up in Burnside for me, just up from PA at the Purolator building (they sub-contract out to them).

better than having them try to ship it to your parent's house in Pictou, arriving after the weekend (while they are away) instead of before, and it sitting in a warehouse in Truro for a week while they threaten to return it to sender instead of send it to Halifax

Kegged: barrel barleywine from 2014 - i think i still have this somewhere

Exactly. I fucking hate both UPS and Fedex and I do everything in my power not to use either company. Wait until you get to deal with their phone operators to try to "arrange pickup". Good luck with that.

Never mind trying to arrange pickup - just trying to get UPS to hold a package in Dartmouth so I can pick it up after work is amazingly difficult.

And last week FedEx made two trips to deliver an envelope to my place - the first time I had to sign a no-signature-required form - and when we arrived home to find it, it wasn't for us anyway!

We never had any trouble with either UPS of Fedex/Purolator in Halifax. If we knew if something was due to be delivered, we would just put a note on the door saying that we would accept the package without us being there, and they would leave it on the porch. Never a problem. Was a lot easier than going to Burnside.
