Seeing as I now have a far superior piece of technology than I had been using, I have questions. Might as well have a thread for them.
Is anyone using VOIP?
What does tap-a-talk do for you guys that use it that makes it worth paying for?

I've used Viber for voip and it was pretty good as long as you had a good signal. You would lose the call altogether if signal was poor though..
I don't use tap-a-talk, and don't upgrade the forums for tap-a-talk. I installed it on the forums a while back and that was it.

I started using tap-a-talk so that I could upload pictures to the forum directly from my phone.

I've been using Tapatalk for over a year and like it a lot. It will 'show threads with unread replies only' and snaps to the first unread post. Epic as balls.

I've been using VoIP on my laptop for work for a few years now and just love it. Voice quality is toll quality and I can call home for free no matter where I am in the world. I've yet to use tapatalk when browsing forums on my Galaxy Nexus but I've heard a lot of positive things about it. I even hear that it's epic as balls.

Why is it that when I try to upload a pic from this phone the site comes back and says invalid file type?

Apple has just been granted a temporary injunction against Galaxy Nexus sales in the United States. US Court ruled against Samsung in the patent case, which was initiated in February, but gets its first ruling just now.
Judge Lucy Koh decided that Samsung has infringed four patents, although one specific patent weighs in towards this decision - patent number 8,086,604 ('604). It basically refers to a device being able to search multiple sources through a single interface (Apple's Siri).
The rest of the patents Apple accuses Samsung (and Google) of infringing are patent 5,946,647 (actionable linking), patent 8,046,721 (slide-to-unlock) and patent 8,074,172 (touch screen word suggestion).
For the injunction to go into effect, Apple must post a bond worth $96 million. It's highly likely the final judgement of the US Court to be of the same kind, provided Samsung isn't able to prove it hasn't infringed on the patents in question.
The Court has ruled that if the Galaxy Nexus availability continues it would cause irreparable harm to Apple in the form of lost market share. This was a result of Google highlighting its "Quick Search Box" in Android as "core user feature on Android" ergo on the Galaxy Nexus too.

The latest update on the Apple vs Samsung “grudge match” over patents may not be that positive for the former company. However, fans of the latter company can breathe a sigh of relief, as the U.S. Court of Appeals granted a sales ban reprieve on Monday for the Galaxy Nexus co-branded smartphone.
Late last month, the Galaxy Nexus was banned for one week in the United States following accusations that Samsung had infringed on an Apple patent with its “Universal Search” function. That ban was lifted promptly, although some Galaxy Tab devices, which also allegedly bear similarities to Apple design and technology, remained banned.
Samsung may have won the battle, but they know they haven’t won the war yet. The stay on the sales ban is once again temporary. Samsung will appeal that the ban be totally revoked, and a hearing set on Monday, August 20, should take things a little further as the Court of Appeals will listen to the South Korean company and its legal representatives justify their appeal.
This patent controversy, however, is totally separate from the Apple-Samsung patent tiff that has been the talk of the tech world since last week. There was no time table given for the reprieve to expire.
Legal experts believe that it would be the court’s discretion as to when it should expire, but it would be more prudent for the stay on the injunction to remain for the entire duration of the appeals process.

Looking for a 'reliable' source for an unlock code (HTC One S from Telus, going with Koodo). Who has used what 'service'?

Are you sure you need an unlock code? I just ran across one post suggesting that you didn't need an unlock to go from Telus to Koodo (but no hint why).
