It's still dark outside so can't see much, but we have a large tree down. I'm supposed to be at the World Trade and Convention Centre in Halifax today, and just got an email that it's closed until later because of a power outage due to the high winds.

We're ok up here in Amherst.
There were times last night I thought that our large picture window was going to break. It was flexing inward at least 2 inches with some of the gusts of wind we were getting. Thankfully we didn't lose power at any point, but at least half of the town did.

Power just blipped off and back on here in Sackville (NB ). We've been really lucky of late with power interruptions. NB Power doesn't do much right, but they've been really proactive the last few years about limbing the trees around lines.

All good in "Urban" Pictou County, can't speak to the outlying areas.

All good in Cambridge. A couple smaller trees down, and some of our back siding is a little loose, but not big bad damage.

A couple of trees down and power went out four times last night for a second at a time. Probably wires hitting each other. TV and internet not working at home.

Some branches on the road and a brief power outage. Didn't get much sleep last night with the noise.

Now that the sun is up it looks like I've got some fence mending to do today.

My end of Hammonds Plains fared well, only a couple of power blips, just enough to reset to clocks.
I lost the majority of the trees in my yard 2 years ago during a fall hurricane.

Had to chase my trashcan down the street last night, but apart from that, nothing here in SJ. "Light breeze" as we would call it back in Iceland

Way late to this. We lost power Wed night out in the county from about 10pm until 2am Thurs.
Checked my sump hole at 10:30 - no worries, water lever was well over 8 inches below the floor. Wife texted from work around 12:30 saying NSP updated the web site to say no power until 1pm!!!
Checked the sump hole again - holy crap! Less than 2 inches until my basement starts to get wet. I have an emulsifying sump pump for the basement bathroom, so it may not be just water flooding my basement. So out I go into the storm to start the generator and run a cord through the basement window and plug the sump pump into the generator... fun stuff!
I've owned that generator for two years and never run it once. It more than paid for it in less than 90 minutes use.

You should've badgered your MLA a bit more.
