"Twenty years ago — a time, by the way, that hops such as Simcoe and Citra were already being developed, but weren’t about to find immediate popularity — there wasn’t a brewer on earth who would have gone to the annual Hop Growers of American convention and said, “I’m going to have a beer that we make 4,000 barrels of, one time a year. It flies off the shelf at damn near $20 a six-pack, and you know what it smells like? It smells like your cat ate your weed and then pissed in the Christmas tree.” - Bell’s Brewery Director of Operations John Mallet on the scent of their popular Hopslam.

I just can't handle those over-regulated events anymore.

DKD sends a shot across the bow on the CBC:

Moncton is emerging as the region's concert hub as other Maritime cities have been left picking up large bills long after major shows have moved on, according to a high-profile promoter.

How were the VIPs? Two of the guys I work with had VIPs for two different concerts in Moncton, and were not impressed. Went with the regular seating for this one.

The concert was great! A true thank you from them to there loyal fans, lots of old stuff. I paid the right price for my vip's $0.00, it was nothing special

The show was excellent. Security was pretty laid back and seemed to make for a pretty laid back crowd. It was my 4th time seeing Metallica and was the best show I've seen them put on.

Yeah the show was great, exceeded my expectations! I saw them the last time they were here and this show was on a whole other level.

I'm thinking this would be like me going to a snooty music web site and seeing in the off topic section of the forums a discussion about how amazingly good a beer Bud Light is.
