Laptops
Looking to buy a laptop for the first time and was thinking of the $300 - $500 range. Anybody have any suggestions or experiences?
"Twenty years ago — a time, by the way, that hops such as Simcoe and Citra were already being developed, but weren’t about to find immediate popularity — there wasn’t a brewer on earth who would have gone to the annual Hop Growers of American convention and said, “I’m going to have a beer that we make 4,000 barrels of, one time a year. It flies off the shelf at damn near $20 a six-pack, and you know what it smells like? It smells like your cat ate your weed and then pissed in the Christmas tree.” - Bell’s Brewery Director of Operations John Mallet on the scent of their popular Hopslam.

Re: Laptops
My last 2 laptops (and my wifes laptops) have been certified pre-owned thinkpads from here:
http://www-03.ibm.com/systems/info/used/computers.html
They regularly have sales where everything is 50% off, which means that you can get a decent Thinkpad for $150-250ish and really nice laptops for less than $400.

On tap: Nelson dry hopped Berliner/ Scottish Heavy 70-/ NE IPA

I second buying a Thinkpad. Stay away from the AMD processors though. Spend the extra and get the Intel version.

Re: Laptops
Biggest thing to note w/ a thinkpad, is you generally get a better laptop w/ the previous gen models. I'd recommend a used x230 over a used x240 for example.
