It seems that everyone is heading in relatively the same direction with the hop theme. I think I've got enough now that I can sit down and start working on a new logo when I can find some time.

Just throwing it out there. I know it's very cliché but simple, and hits hops and maritimes.

Bump! Did we ever get anywhere with this? I'd like to start thinking about club apparel...........

After some very spirited discussion on revamping the Brewnosers logo, a topic which has been kicking around off and on for some time, I think the time has come for a change. AFAIAC, our current logo is a horribly bland monstrosity, and I would like to have something considerably different. I had been discussing some of this with Jeff Smith, and a lot of input here from everyone would be great, as I'm sure there is a lot of different opinions. My vision is a basic symbol that people could have some fun with, akin to this kind of work, easy to recognize, easy to modify:




So let's hear some ideas, because that's just one possibility, and there are many others. Now.

Make the waves into hops, and Brewnosers in the beam...

It's still being worked on. 60 hour work weeks and family are taking priority these days though so it's not moving along as quickly as I'd hoped. Logo design can be a very time consuming process—especially when it needs to be used on clothing as well as web, etc.

No worries Jeff, I wasn't being critical, just wondering if we were still working on designs, layouts, etc.

I may have a decent line on crested apparel when the time comes to pull the trigger. Maybe we can spread the load around rather than put it all on your shoulders

No offence taken at all—making excuses to justify it in my own head more than anything.

I don't have that many connections for things like apparel, etc. in this area anymore, so I'd be more than happy to have other folks take care of that aspect.

A group buy for hats, shirts, "business cards" etc would probably work. Some generic business cards with just the logo, website address, and maybe a few "descriptive" words would be good for potential club recruits!
