I don't have any topic subscriptions so I don't know about those, but I do get the PM emails. Check your junk mail folder maybe?

gmail must 'recalibrate' their spam filter every so often.

If you don't always open them or open them, click the link, and immediately delete them, it tricks GMail into thinking you don't care.

I'm not surprised, but I don't have that problem - no doubt because I filter Brewnosers.org messages directly into a brewnosers folder.

GMail's spam filters work extremely well for my style of use (I don't remember the last time I found something in my spam folder that shouldn't be there, and only occasionally see spam in my inbox, though it's catching 200 spams a day - way down from my high of a thousand), but it doesn't surprise me at all if it's too aggressive for some users.
Currently on tap: Nothing!
In keg: Still nothing.
In Primary: Doggone American Rye Pale Ale

I probably find a message every other month that wound up in spam by accident, and maybe one every other week that squeaks into my inbox. This is partly thanks to my generous roommates in second year who took the liberty to sign me up for every freebie on the internet. When I check my spam it's a mix of that and emails originating from people who still use hotmail.

Mine have been going to spam as well (gmail, yes). I selected a bunch of them and marked them "not spam" and I've since received some.

You should be able to setup gmail to never mark that email address as spam.
