Re: Tried and True Recipes
This is awesome
"Twenty years ago — a time, by the way, that hops such as Simcoe and Citra were already being developed, but weren’t about to find immediate popularity — there wasn’t a brewer on earth who would have gone to the annual Hop Growers of American convention and said, “I’m going to have a beer that we make 4,000 barrels of, one time a year. It flies off the shelf at damn near $20 a six-pack, and you know what it smells like? It smells like your cat ate your weed and then pissed in the Christmas tree.” - Bell’s Brewery Director of Operations John Mallet on the scent of their popular Hopslam.

No problem fellas. If you have a recipe in the other forum that you want moved to the new section, post the link in here and I'll move it.

You can move anything of mine you want. Tried they are. I have no idea what true is supposed to mean.Jimmy wrote:No problem fellas. If you have a recipe in the other forum that you want moved to the new section, post the link in here and I'll move it.

At Alexander Keith's we follow the recipes first developed by the great brewmaster to the absolute letter.

Re: Tried and True Recipes
My understanding of "tried and true" is: I've brewed this beer at least once (probably several times), was very pleased with the results (maybe tweaked it to improve on earlier recipes?), and want to share a house favourite recipe with others.mr x wrote:You can move anything of mine you want. That is different from a regular recipe that you put up to gather opinions from the group, or are just posting because someone asked for a sampler recipe, maybe is not a favourite IPA/N.Eng.Brown/Kolsch. Like something you'd brew once, then not bother with.

Re: Tried and True Recipes
Thanks Jimmy and everyone else who contributes... I think it'll be a big help for those of us still new to all-grain and recipe development
a good example would be LiverDance's Comfortably Numb IPA. He shared the finished product with the whole group and it was given the seal of approval by other Brewnosers... that would be "Tried and True" to me
What Chalmers said...mr x wrote:You can move anything of mine you want. Tried they are. I have no idea what true is supposed to mean.
