Hello from Haligonia
Hello all!
Just wanted to introduce myself and say how great it is for an online community like this to exist for all us Nova Scotians! I've been making wine from kits for 4 years now, but I wanted to branch and get some beer brewing on the go.
I also wanted to send a shout out to Jonathan at the Noble Grape on Lacewood Drive for getting me set up for my batch of Piccadilly Porter and for telling me about this great site. I appreciated your enthusiasm Jonathan and I look forward to meeting other new brewers in this forum that you suggested.
Cheers everyone!

Welcome.
Be sure to check out the events section and group buy section for upcoming events as well as great deals on equipment and supplies.
Hoptoberfest is coming up and would be a good spot to meet up with some of the members, check out the discussion in the events forum.

Re: Hello from Haligonia

"Twenty years ago — a time, by the way, that hops such as Simcoe and Citra were already being developed, but weren’t about to find immediate popularity — there wasn’t a brewer on earth who would have gone to the annual Hop Growers of American convention and said, “I’m going to have a beer that we make 4,000 barrels of, one time a year. It flies off the shelf at damn near $20 a six-pack, and you know what it smells like? It smells like your cat ate your weed and then pissed in the Christmas tree.” - Bell’s Brewery Director of Operations John Mallet on the scent of their popular Hopslam.

At Alexander Keith's we follow the recipes first developed by the great brewmaster to the absolute letter.
