Next meeting
We can discuss the who hosts and where aspects of each monthly meeting here and announce the decision on the listserve. Any takers for November 9, 2010 (this Tuesday)?

Sorry guys - I can't make it either.
This work thing is really cramping my style.

It is here tonight! 2325 Clifton St. 7:30 for 8. This will be a test of whether we need a listserve or not. Will having a web forum as the only means of notification mean that meetings, the lifeblood of a homebrew club, subside

Re: Next meeting
It's not a requirement (we've often had too much to drink for a week night). If you want to bring snacks instead, that would be most welcome.

Re: Next meeting
If they subside it will be the result of stupidity/stubbornness, not technology. Everybody knows it's the second Tuesday of the month. Doesn't take much effort to find out where.Brewnoser wrote:It is here tonight! 2325 Clifton St. 7:30 for 8. This will be a test of whether we need a listserve or not. Re: Next meeting
It's not nearly so much the difficulty of finding out where a meeting is, as actually getting any advance notice where it will be. I'm a geek, and I rarely miss 24 hours of email (or RSS feeds from here), but still - I need something more than 24 hours notice of an event before I can organize myself to be in town on a Tuesday night.
Currently on tap: Nothing!
In keg: Still nothing.
In Primary: Doggone American Rye Pale Ale

Re: Next meeting
But like x said, we all (those of us who were Brewnosers before this website existed) know that it is held on the second Tuesday of the month, and I don't believe I've ever attended one that wasn't in Halifax or Dartmouth.derek wrote:It's not nearly so much the difficulty of finding out where a meeting is, as actually getting any advance notice where it will be. Regardless, for some reason, Jeff's invite did not appear on the list, though he did make the effort to announce it.
December's 2nd Tuesday is the 14th, though I'm away until the 16th, so that's crappy for me.

Re: Next meeting
Derek makes a good point, the last minute decisions could be improved on. Maybe throw the topic out there the week before here and on the list-server, and try to nail it down by the Friday. That gives everyone a few days to find out what's up. That's up to Jeff ability to schedule to certain extent, as he hosts the majority of the time.
Unfortunately, I'm working nights on Dec 14. Been a bad stretch of schedule conflicts for me lately...

I will have to miss this one, will be in St. John's working. And with all the goodies I was able to bring back from the US, too! They'll have to wait. (will upload some beer porn shortly)KMcK wrote:I'm willing to host this month. Unless there are objections:

I posted an invitation for tonight to the listserv a few hours ago but it doesn't seem to have gone out. Spread the word!

The timestamps on these messages appear to be off by an hour...
I don't have anything hoppy to bring, sadly, but I saw a recommendation the last time around that snacks are in short supply and there's too much booze, so I may bring a tasty snack.

Brewing right now: whatever is going on tap at Stillwell in a few weeks.

Likely didn't go through on the listserv right away due to the link. I recall that being an issue in the past.

Yeah. The listserve apparently went cranky. I posted to it Saturday suggesting we do a Xmas pub crawl starting at Rogues and ending at the Hart.

This is why we need another/several admins for the listserv. Kyle's finally came through today, and Brewnoser's hasn't yet.Brewnoser wrote:Yeah. The listserve apparently went cranky. I posted to it Saturday suggesting we do a Xmas pub crawl starting at Rogues and ending at the Hart.

Re: Next meeting
I'm 99% sure I have some in my cellar (in St John's right now so I can't check). Assuming I have more than one, I can bring it to the next meeting.mr x wrote:If you ever come across Stone Vertical Epic 09.09.09...

I'm late to the game, so I believe I only have 07, 08, 09 and 10 V.E. years.

I intend to make it along with some Pliny the Elder, Sierra Nevada Northern Hemisphere Harvest Wet Hop Ale, and a Stone Ruination.
