My hopes were high on the Imperial Red but was let down as it wasn't a big beer at all.GAM wrote:I picked up 2 Wychwood packs yesterday.

Hobgoblin is a nice beer, I look forward to it every season.
Dr Thirsty was the one I was least looking forward to as Blondes aren't normally my thing, but this beer was well balanced, hardly any malt sweetness, but lots of grain flavor. Completly exceeded my expections.
As for the Scarecrow that is in my fridge and I'll probably drink that tonight while cleaning bottles.

Simcoe pale ale. Turned out pretty clear with some time. Tastes great after shovelling

"Twenty years ago — a time, by the way, that hops such as Simcoe and Citra were already being developed, but weren’t about to find immediate popularity — there wasn’t a brewer on earth who would have gone to the annual Hop Growers of American convention and said, “I’m going to have a beer that we make 4,000 barrels of, one time a year. It flies off the shelf at damn near $20 a six-pack, and you know what it smells like? It smells like your cat ate your weed and then pissed in the Christmas tree.” - Bell’s Brewery Director of Operations John Mallet on the scent of their popular Hopslam.

What an IPA should look like (Inversion IPA, by Deschutes, quite good):
what an IPA shouldn't look like (Ode to Citra, by Powell Street Craft Brewery, awful):

My version of Keith's Funktown Pale Ale. Columbus for bittering and Simcoe/Amarillo for flavor and aroma. Possibly a touch drier than I wanted (1.004) but a tasty sonnabitch nonetheless.
