I'm trying to convert partial mash to all-grain recipes. I'm using Brewsmith 2.2.
My question is, what are High Malt Liquid Glucose and Light Liquid Unhopped Malt Extract equivalent to in the list of grains?

Re: Brewsmith grains list
Likely Pilsen or 2 row. I would keep it simple and use one or the other and your specialty grains to start. Get your process together and work from there.
If your using a laugher yeast I'd lean to Pilsen, with an ale 2 row.

Re: Brewsmith grains list
Sorry for the confusion.
I need to find out what syrups are the same in order to do the conversion.
For example, one of the recipes is a Noble Grape partial called Canadian Ale. The list is:
200g dexrin malt - easy enough, 200g cara-pils
2.3kg light liquid unhopped malt extract - not sure what syrup is the same in brewsmith
700g high malt glucose - again, unsure
18g cascade boil hops
8g cascade finish hops

Re: Brewsmith grains list
I don't use Beersmith, but rather some freeware called HomeBrew Formulator. But ...
It has the following entries in it's Fermentables database:
1. Light Malt Extract Syrup, Potential OG = 1.034, Malt Yield percentage = 73.9130435, SRM = 2, Mash = NO
2. Dextrose (Glucose), Poential OG = 1.037, Malt Yield percentage = 80.4347826, SRM = 1, Mash = NO
Compare these to some of the numbers in the BeerSmith grain list and you may find something equivalent.

Re: Brewsmith grains list
Thanks for the responses. From what I can gather, ajcarp & sandy, you're spot on. If I really want to make things hard, I can use flaked corn in place of glucose. I'm thinking that I'm over-thinking this and it may be best to just make a new recipe that I like rather than try to duplicate one that I know like. At least I'm aware of what the target is.

You may want to contact a Truro area brewer and do a brew day with them.
You get to see the process but with gear that's not yours.
