Re: Dogfish Head 60min IPA Clone
In Sam Caligione's book Extreme Brewing, Bryan Selders has the extract version of this recipe, should be relatively easy to suss out the AG version though. His fermentable bill is:
OG: 1.064
FG: 1.017
ABV: 6%
- 7 lbs. light DME
- 6oz British amber malt
OG: 1.064
FG: 1.017
ABV: 6%

Jimmy - You gotta dial that new single tier in on 10 gallon batches. It'll add an extra 45min to your brew day....just sayin.Jimmy wrote:Giving this one a go on the weekend. I got the recipe from homebrewtalk, and there is quite a lengthy discussion on this recipe.

I meant to ask Robert at the grain pickup this morning about the "do not ever visit homebrewtalk". I think you've answered the question. Never been there myself... not likely to, now.NASH wrote:mr x wrote:The first rule of homebrewtalk - do not ever visit homebrewtalk.![]()

One of these days I'm going to find the Corner Gas episode with Oscar's response to the metric system.

Oscar's not a fan of the metric system...
Oscar: What's this thing weigh?
Hank: Fifty kilograms.
Oscar: Kilograms? Talk right!
Hank: It's metric.
Oscar: Metric? I got news for you, Hank, we won the war!

Re: Dogfish Head 60min IPA Clone
It's a good thing that you're looking out for my interests because I hadn't checked this thread until now. In Extreme Brewing Bryan Selders claimed that 50 g of crystal 60 and 100 g of light chocolate malt are all the specialty malt that's needed in a 23 litre batch of Raison D'etre. I thought that was rather weak for the beer I remember from the bottle, so I took his U.S. units and ran them through an on-line converter and found them to roughly be 115 and 225 g, respectively. Dude must have been drinking a lot of Raison D'etre when he was operating the calculator for that one. Thankfully he doesn't work for NASA, but quality and consistency in a brewery are important too.derek wrote:Speaking for Kyle: we can only say "what's that in litres?"JohnnyMac wrote:Jimmy wrote:Giving this one a go on the weekend. That could be the reason he's in the brewpub developing recipes (I believe) instead of brewing in their production facility.KMcK wrote:Thankfully he doesn't work for NASA, but quality and consistency in a brewery are important too.

It's pretty easy to find if you just google Extreme Brewing download. There are lots of the file upload/download websites that have it to download directly from their sites.

I recall that we won the War of 1812 and politely kicked out the British so we don't have to use either of their antiquated systems.
