Monster Mill Pre-Order - Arrived

Post by GillettBreweryCnslt » Sat Nov 14, 2015 11:56 am

Hi Everyone,

So there were some pricing mistakes in the accessories for the PRO mills. I've fixed those and I've extended the pre-order until Wednesday, Nov 18th. Here is the link to the mills:

https://www.everwoodavebrewshop.com/cat ... ing-mills/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

Actually, you might notice that all prices have been reduced, but the group discount does not apply to these mills so it would be the same. Just trying to keep up with the Jones'

Please place your order before Web, Nov 18th at Midnight.

Thanks

Dave

They hopefully will be here today. I'm watching the tracking info and it tells me they are scheduled to arrive by the end of the day, but I haven't seen customs clearance yet either, so we'll see. But they are in transit!

Used mine last night...there is a massive difference in the time it takes to crush compared to my barley crusher. I thought the bucket I was milling into would be about 1/2 full, and looked inside and it was jammed full of crushed malt.

Awesome, i have a barley crusher i purchased a couple of years ago and i have been looking at the Monster Mills for quite some time now. I'm holding off until i can set it up properly with a motor / switch in its final home.... Hopefully after christmas i'll be ready.

Good idea. Takes quite a bit more torque to turn this mill compared to the barley crusher.

Using a cordless drill right now. It worked, but will likely upgrade to a motor in the near future.

For those of you looking to motorise, I'm using a slow speed drill from Princess Auto plugged into an outlet with a cheap fan speed switch. Total price < $100. I think there's details in my build thread.

Just saw that in your thread, pretty cool.

Adding the fan switch in is a great idea.

I did a test yesterday after i got mine assembled. My half inch hammer drill was smoking. Not sure if I need a better drill, or I just need to reverse it a bit before I can go full steam with it. The crush is 100% better than my old corona mill I was using though.

I figured it out. I tightened the Chuck down real good, and it blew through 10 lba of grain in about 30 seconds. Best beer purchase ever :)
