What's your favorite brown ale recipe?

I want to make a brown ale this weekend but don't know what to make. I was thinking maybe a clone of Sierra Nevada tumbler, though I've never tried it.

Anyone have a favorite brown ale recipe?

The only issue I have with making the tumbler is that it calls mostly for challenger hops..which Noble Grape doesn't list as a stocked item. Anyone know of a reasonable substitute? From what I've read online, there isn't really one.

says it's a varient of Northern brewer in Beersmith, sounds like centenial as well. If it calls for them everywhere I'd use NB for bittering and Centenial from 30mins down.

So this is what I decided on, however when I went to NG, I didn't know what type of smoked malt to get. The guy there said it would be peated malt, but from what I can find, that doesn't seem right... It seems like it should have been rauch malt instead. Anyone have experience with either of those smoked malts?

That's what I figured. I tossed the grains I picked up and went back for a different recipe. I didn't feel like fucking with the smoked malt at all.

Tried a hydro sample of this today, pretty happy with how it turned out...minus the cloudiness. Hoping it settles out in the fridge.

This turned out pretty decent. I took a bottle down to Nash over the weekend...he wen't pretty easy on me, so I guess that could be good OR bad!

It's good beer! Not exactly what I look for in a Brown Ale but that's my personal preference, all in all a very solid brew.
