I am drinking ale today." ~ Poe

Brewing a variation of our "standby" IPA. Usually use US-05, but trying it this time round with Vermont Ale Yeast. Changing the hop schedule slightly as well (same hops, slight schedule change). Starter is doing its thing. (Starters are life-changing. Who knew?) Grain crush in progress. Will mash in later tonight or first thing tomorrow.

Not Galaxiga? :spilly:
"Twenty years ago — a time, by the way, that hops such as Simcoe and Citra were already being developed, but weren’t about to find immediate popularity — there wasn’t a brewer on earth who would have gone to the annual Hop Growers of American convention and said, “I’m going to have a beer that we make 4,000 barrels of, one time a year. It flies off the shelf at damn near $20 a six-pack, and you know what it smells like? It smells like your cat ate your weed and then pissed in the Christmas tree.” - Bell’s Brewery Director of Operations John Mallet on the scent of their popular Hopslam.

Sandy, have you done the 30 minute boil before? If so how did it turn out?

Keg and carb today. I want this to work so bad. Brewing with propane in winter is brutal unless you wait for the right day.

I'm in the same boat Sandy and brew with propane on my back deck. As long as there isn't a huge amount of wind I just go for it.

For my last APA I did the Brulosophy Short and Shoddy method, I was a few points short on my OG but made that up with some DME. But other than that the beer turned out great, next time I might extend the mash time back to 60min in order to get full conversion.

A Red Ale in my new Robobrew. Did a Pale Ale last weekend, and it was super easy using it. Much easier than BIAB and I can do it inside!
Kegged: Maritime Fog (NEIPA), All Ryell'ed Up (Rye APA)
Fermenting: Seltzer Water

So you got a Robobrew, cool! Is it the new V3? How does the build quality seem?

I got the V3 last week yes! The build quality is top notch. Any issues with previous versions have been fixed or made better. I loved doing my first brew on it last week and am looking forward to how easy it is going to be to do the second tomorrow.

Good to hear, I've been looking at getting one but there isn't nearly as many user discussion about them compared to the grainfather and people seem to trust the grainfather more, probably because it is more expensive.

I’m really interested in this as well. Perhaps a new thread is in order to discuss Robobrew and for Robobrewers to post their feedback for any potential buyers.
