First All Grain brew time
Hello, I'm (once keg capacity allows) about to try my first AG batch after doing maybe 10 Festa Brews over the last 3 years. I have a 3.5 or so gallon pot and today I bought a BIAB bag and a digital thermometer from Everywood. I'll just cool in the sink for now until I get a chiller and a good sized kettle/burner. I'm thinking of doing maybe a 2 gallon NEIPA or IPA or something hoppy just to get an AG under my belt, I'm just wondering if anyone treats HRM water or if it's a must for brewing. I'm in Cole Harbour, and I'd like to do like a baseline brew with no ph or other adjustments just to keep things basic and to see if I like how it turns out. Anyone using HRM/CH's water without treating it? Thanks for any advice.

I used straight outta the tap water for several decent brews
I recommend at the bare minimum treating the chlorine. We have such low residuals that it’s questionable if it’s needed but doesn’t hurt.
I think the ratio is one crushed camden tablet per 5 gallons of brewing water.
Treat all your water. Thechlorophenols that are produced are done in the mash and are permanent in your brew.

Oh ok I'll probably treat it then. Lord knows I've seen enough YouTube videos by now on brewing, treating the water seems like cheap/easy/good practice. Thanks for that!

Sorry that’s 1 tablet per 20 gallons of brewing water
And it’s Campden not Camden I always mix that up
