Having this one now. Nice and clean with a touch of sweetness from the pils and some malt character from the melanoidan as well. great for watching football

"Twenty years ago — a time, by the way, that hops such as Simcoe and Citra were already being developed, but weren’t about to find immediate popularity — there wasn’t a brewer on earth who would have gone to the annual Hop Growers of American convention and said, “I’m going to have a beer that we make 4,000 barrels of, one time a year. It flies off the shelf at damn near $20 a six-pack, and you know what it smells like? It smells like your cat ate your weed and then pissed in the Christmas tree.” - Bell’s Brewery Director of Operations John Mallet on the scent of their popular Hopslam.

Very nice. I don't usually go for lagers but that was tasty. Clean and well done! Thanks

Very nice beer. Soft malt sweetness on the nose and it’s well balanced in the flavour as well. Easy to tell that care was taken in fermenting this, it’s very clean and lets the malts shine through.

Thanks

Nice beer. Toasty, bread crust malt in aroma and flavour is great. Clean lager flavour and it is crisp. Easy drinking and a great start! Thanks for sharing.

Its a nice easy drinking beer. A bit cloudier than I would expect in an amber lager, but it doesn't detract from the nice sweet grainy malt character. I get a subtle hop character on the nose. This beer is well balanced and hanging a bit on the sweet malt side. I'm getting low amounts of sulphury DMS character initially but seemed to dissipate half way through the glass.
Overall I am really enjoying this beer thanks!

Really enjoyed this beer. A little on the sweet side, but none the less very crisp and easy drinking. I would drink it again. Thanks!

Thought this was a great beer to kick off the month. Malt character was very enjoyable and it benefited from a lovely clean fermentation profile. I wouldn't have hated a bit more bitterness to balance out the sweetness, but I'd definitely have another either way. Cheers!

Nice start to the month. Big fan of malty lagers and this did not disappoint.

A lovely clean lager. My wife and I enjoyed it after a busy Sunday. It had a nice malty-sweetness which was very well paired with the bitterness level.

I would have thought WLP833 would have been a bit dirtier, I'll definitely take note of that, and make use in the future!

I don't think I'm a fan of the WLP833 at all. I much prefer Wyeast 2206.

Nice and malty with a sweetness. A bit more sweetness than I would like personally, but I would not turn down another. Thanks for sharing!

Sharing this with my dad. Very nicely done! (he agrees). A well executed beer... been a while since I've had a lager, and I enjoyed this.Image

Agreed with others, nice clean ferment. Bready malt sweetness is tamed by the lager crispness for an enjoyable euro lager. Thanks!

Just getting started now, unfortunately.

Great beer, easy drinking. I am getting a little bit of the sulphur, but I like the sulphur, it reminds you that it’s a lager and not a clean ale.
