Save $402.50 and ask here.

Go to some meetings and do what some friends and I did last night. We "blind taste" beer ( wrapped in brown paper) taste, describe and reveal. We collectively have 20 - 30 wrapped beer at any one time and try for at least once a week.

I signed up for the day long one through NSCC Lunenberg Campus last fall. It was cancelled due to lack of interest but they are supposed to be doing another one in the spring. Im not sure what I will learn on the day long course, but I thought it would still be interesting to do it. Apparently they did the course at Saltbox Brewery.

I can understand going if you're completely new, but that seems like a ridiculous price. Is there any hands on or all discussion?

Agree. If you are just getting into brewing this might be a good introduction. Quite pricey, though. An alternative would be to pick up John Palmer's How to Brew and then join one of us on a brewday.

This isn't specifically a hands-on brewing course, its a certification in becoming a Beer Sommelier through the Prud'homme program. From what I know, its similar to becoming a Cicerone but less intensive.
On tap: APA, Dubbel, Dark Mild
Fermenting: Brett Saison 2022, Schwarzbier, APA, Sour Brown,
Coming up: American Wheat (Fruited), Vienna Lager, Dortmunder
Bottled: Brett Saison 2020, Brett Saison 2021, Baltic Porter

Ok now that makes more sense.

Thanks for the feedback. Through my research I've come to the conclusion that this is similar to a cooking course where everyone sits around a table to smell and taste foods while discussing how to properly smell and taste each food.
